Juicy Couture, designer of a popular terry cloth sweat suit, has sued a university gossip website called juicycampus.com for trademark infringement.   Juicycampus.com sold promotional t-shirts and hoodies with the words ‘juicycampus’ printed on them.  The website is a gossip site where students can anonymously post about various subjects.

The founder of juicycampus.com thinks the lawsuit is “malicious,” as the parties are a “gossip website and…a clothing brand,” and therefore seem unrelated.  The website only made about $100 in sales so the lawsuit could be a very expensive consequence.  Since the charge, the promotional items have been pulled from juicycampus.com.
