Clear Channel sues Tribune Co. over Trade Secrets

May 30th, 2008 · No Comments

Clear Channel recently sued Tribune Co. over the hiring of Andy Friedman, a former Clear Channel employee.  Friedman used to be a vice president of news, talk, and sports at Clear Channel’s music and radio division.  Since his employment with Tribune Company, Clear Channel claims Friedman has threatened to disclose knowledge of strategies and ongoing projects.  Clear Channel seeks an injunction to keep the former employee from working at Tribune Co. until the end of the year, as well as monetary damages and the return of any and all sensitive business documents.

Friedman is the latest in a series of new hires by Tribune Co. of former Clear Channel employees.  Clear Channel has been recently pursuing litigation against many offending parties, including the banks financing their buyout deal.
