Chinese Salesmen Gets 2 Years for Industrial Espionage

A former Chinese citizen living in California was recently sentenced to two years in federal prison for stealing military software and attempting to sell it to the Chinese military.  Xiaodong Sheldon Meng is the first person to be sentenced under the 1996 economic espionage law, designed to protect trade secrets from foreign powers. Meng was also sentenced to three years of parole after he finished his sentence, in addition to a $10,000 fine.
